[J_K_Scarlett]

Hello,
Finally posting here. This is the meet the author thread for J.K.Scarlett. We are currently writing 'The Summer after the battle' which actually got started as a way to get the characters into the right place for the story we originally had an idea for 'The curse of Fenik'. So for those of you who are currently enjoying the summer after the battle, there is another (probably darker to be honest) fic in the wings.

After these we may finally get onto the fantasy trilogy we have in mind

Who is JKS?

JKS is a single author with two bodies who have been married for 8 years. They met at University in the UK nearly 15 years ago and have been together ever since. They currently reside in the UK with two cats.

J has an imagination and thanks to encouragement from K, puts it to use and does the bulk of the actual writing. J also keeps an eye on the canon and the official HP words. J has read the HP books far to much for his own good.

K has an understanding of the comma and its correct usage along with a whole load of other punctuation that J is wont to put in when he thinks it might look right (Although K assures J that he’s learning). She also understands readability and understand-ability of plots and is the sounding board for early ideas.

Anything else you want to know, post a question and JKS will respond.

Well we think it’s only fair to bring people up to speed on what’s been happening (and why the posting has dropped off somewhat).

Both parts of JKS have been struggling recently K's illness is proving to be more long term than expected and although we are possibly close to a diagnosis K is still struggling a lot and this means that J is having to look after her and do a full time job and try to find time to write.

Speaking of which J has also been off work with stress (not that surprising really) but is now back working (although K has just been made redundant).

In the middle of all of this JKS have also joined/formed a writing group with two other local authors and we will be publishing a book of short stories in autumn 2013 (which J will be assembling / typsetting) so right now, until we have completed our four stories etc. for the book, HP will be on the back burner. We will finish it but the sequel is in doubt, I guess depending on the success of the first book and other projects.

JKS has committed the next few years to making a decent run of being a writer to see if we can make it earn us money. I hope that in between, I can make room for the HP stuff.
