1. How did you name your OC's for Breaking up the Marauders (and the sequels)?
2. Who/what first inspired you to write fanfiction?
3. What genre do you find the easiest to write? Most fun?
4. Where did your author name come from?
I would never, ever give a Death Eater a pet name.

Oooh, I'm so glad that you commented! (And I'm proud to say that I definitely recognize your penname. Haha, I love familiar reviewers. *hugs*
Here I go!
1. You have NO IDEA how excited I am that you asked that. I just sprinted up my staircase, rummaged through my drawer of random things, pulled out my oldest writing notebook, and flipped to a certain page. I spent a lot of time agonizing over the perfect names before deciding on Elle and Brigid. Elle was originally named Rebecca Mahoney (I absolutely LOVE the name Rebecca and will probably use it again later. Although, not with that last name...bad combo, you know?). Then I scratched that out, and she became Cecilia Rinaldi, but that was too grand of a name for her, so she went back to being Rebecca. Something still didn't fit right, though, so I started thinking hard. I once knew this girl at camp who looked a lot like how I picture this character and her name just happened to be Elle, and I was like, "OH, SNAP." Then, I went to a Latin dictionary online and typed in "innocence" and got "Insontis", and I thought that that had a nice ring to it. So I had Elle Insontis. Brigid didn't give me QUITE as much trouble. I knew I wanted "Mullins" for the last name, and I knew that it had to be a spunky sort of name. I picked Kelly and worked with the name Kelly for quite some time, but it was a little TOO spunky and not enough of the character's attitude. Then I was like, well, I really like the name Brigid, and "Brigid" and "Mullins" sound good together...so I stuck it in the story, and it was perfect. Phew. The others came out of a sort of system I have. If they're minor characters, I'll flip through channels, reading the names of the actors in the programs, and I'll stick a first name and a last name together. I think Sharon Vasa actually came out of watching the old "Parent Trap" movie and a jar of Vaseline sitting on my kitchen counter.
So, yeah. I get really excited when I get to pick the names for my characters. Hehe. I bet you didn't expect a response THAT long. Seriously, though, I could talk for hours if you get me started.
2. Well, I originally started out on fanfiction.net writing really AWFUL Lord of the Rings smutty type stuff. That was quite a few years ago, probably five-ish, and I was like, "This is dumb. I'm fourteen. I know NOTHING about this stuff, and I should just stop." My good friend Abigail (she is actually where a lot of Brigid's character comes from) got me hooked, probably from the Very Secret Diaries. I found hpff.com on my own and was absolutely fascinated by the banners. Plus, it's just a very pretty site.
3. Romance all the way. I'm a hopeless romantic. I LOVE writing humor, too, but I'm only funny when I'm not trying to be. I think the Marauders deserve their own genre, because they are something completely different. They're just absolutely hilarious, and I love writing them.
4. Haha, welllll...that's a story. So, freshman year (three years ago, in case you were wondering), I was sitting on a heater in my first hour World History class when I said to my newly found best friend, "Pelican is a really funny word." She then turned to me and said, "Well, fine. You'll be Pelican then." From then on, I was Pelican. The "Purple" part is because that's my favorite color. "Pretty" is just because I love alliteration. I think it's hysterical.
Thank you so much for your wonderful questions! It kept me amused for a good twenty minutes. =D

And now I have more questions
1. What are you writing next?
2. Which Harry Potter book was your favorite?
3. Which do you prefer, the books or the fanfiction?
I would never, ever give a Death Eater a pet name.

Do you ever write like any kind of outline or is it all like planned in your head or do you just make it up as you go along?
Do your OCs ever come alive? Ok, it's a weird question so let me explain. I've actually met another person with this too so it's not a totally insane questions but like the character sorta talks in your mind. Like I've actually literally started taking advice from one of my OCs...which I really shouldn't be taking advice from but it works. Like and alter ego or dare I say it sort of an imaginary friend although I have surpassed the age of imaginary friends.
What inspires your stories? Real life situations? Books? Dreams? Other? A mix?
What kind of fanfiction do you enjoy reading and/or wouldn't mind writing if you decided for some odd and very wrong reason you didn't want to write romantic stories anymore?
What initially attracted you to the wonderful wonderful Marauder era?
Which do you prefer; Trio or Marauders? Reading and writing and just the whole basic background in the books.
And I lost the rhythm I had going. Well, that's all for you, deary. I hope you enjoy at least a little bit my questions.

Hooray!
1. Well, that's something. Er, I wrote an outline for an angsty fic about a Remus/Lily/James triangle ages ago. It's a short story called "Never Show Your Feelings", and I know exactly what I want to do. I also wrote around the same time a Marauder story based on A Midsummer's Night's Dream called "Tangled Webs We Weave". However, I haven't done any actual writing for any of them. I'm probably just going to keep pumping out one-shots until I get all my stupid college applications done. *shoots self*
2. Oh, man. That is a toughie. I really love the first one, because it's so innocent and magical and all that good stuff. I love the sixth because it reminds me of a fanfiction. It's probably one of those two. I liked the seventh, but I can't call it my favorite because it was so different than the others.
3. I really don't know. I like aspects of both. I like really, really GOOD fanfiction, but the books are just...amazing. Oh, I don't even know. *sheepish grin*
Thanks for responding again!

Don't worry - I have a nice big question box
1. Whose your favorite Harry Potter character? Least Favorite?
2. Whose your favorite Hogwarts staff member?
3. Whose your favorite Hogwarts ghost?
4. If you were working in the Ministry of Magic, what position/department would you work for?
5. What is your favorite ship to write? And to read?
6. Do you prefer longer stories or one-shots?
Hehe, that's a lot of questions. And if you ever get tired of these, just tell me and I will cease and desist.

Well, thank you very much! I appreciate the time that you took to think up questions for me =D
1. I always write an outline. They're always very loose, though, so I throw things in as I go along. If I'm not working within some kind of plan, though, it'll never get done.
2. Hm, I've never actually had that happen. That's very interesting, though. I can see how that could happen. I've often wondered what it would be like to actually play my characters, you know? That'd be fun =)
3. A lot of things are taken from real life, but most of it just pops into my head from God-knows-where. Most of the time, it comes from looking at something and then thinking of something nice that could happen involving that. Like, I was standing under an umbrella and came up with my soon-to-be-posted one-shot "Under The Umbrella".
4. I read anything that looks interesting and well-written. Usually, I'll read the first few paragraphs of something and if I feel like continuing, I will. I really will read almost any genre, though. If I stopped writing romance, I would probably do parodies or go in the opposite direction and write angst. Some of my stories are pretty angsty anyway.
5. I really have no idea. I think I'd only read one story about them, and then, all of a sudden, I had a plot bunny and started writing "Breaking Up The Marauders." They've been my preference ever since.
6. Marauders. I love that more sexual type of humor, and it's just weird to write/read that in the Hogwarts era, unless it's done right. Like, with characters like Fred and George, I think it's fine, but when Ron and Harry start making sexual connotations, I get weirded out. The Marauders just seem like they'd be doing that all over the place, so it just amuses me.
I really did have fun! I love answering questions

Fantastic. You're going to have to get tired first, because it amuses me too much.
1. Oh, wow. That's really hard. I REALLY love Peeves. I think he's so hysterical. I basically had a tantrum when he wasn't in the movies. He's probably one of my favorites. One that I dislike is Fudge. Oh, my God. If I lived in the Wizarding World, I would be the freakin' idiot who assassinated the Minister of Magic. He annoys me so much. Honestly. ARGH. *breathes*
2. I adore Dumbldore. Even with his dark past. But since he's not really a teacher, I'm going to have to say Flitwick. One of my favorite parts in the fifth book is when he gives Harry the Ice Mice. He's just so...cute.
3. Peeves doesn't count, I'm assuming. Nick, then. Myrtle's pretty amusing, but sometimes she should just stay in her toilet. Nick's dry sense of humor and slight pompous attitude always amusing me.
4. Probably something like Mr. Weasley's job. I wouldn't want to be near anything too dangerous. I'm a bit of a wuss. That's probably why I write horrendous action/adventure stories.
5. I love James/Lily. The love/hate thing is so entertaining to write. I really enjoy reading a well-done Ron/Hermione, though.
6. That depends. I have limited time to read, so it's hard for me to read a story that's been going on for awhile. I like them both, but I like things to be more developed, like a story is. I mostly read one-shots because they're quick. I've been writing those lately, too, because they're easy to pump out. Yeah.
Hooray!

Well, thank you! Haha. I actually had a really hard time comprehending the fact that he married Tonks in the seventh book.
Heh. The idea for Breaking Up the Marauders. I don't really know WHERE it came from. I was in the middle of writing another story, and I'd never written a Marauder story, but, all of a sudden, the first scene popped into my head fully formed. It's almost word-for-word what I first wrote. It's very difficult to get Lily and James together. You have to decide what Lily's feelings are. Has she liked him the whole time? Does she really hate him as much as she says she does? Things like that. Getting characters to be believable takes a LOT of practice. I wrote quite a few stories before Breaking Up The Marauders, and, trust me, I did NOT get it on the first try. If you ever need a beta or anything, I'd be willing to offer my services. I've never done it before, but I'd be willing to try.

1. What do you think you write the best?
2. What is the hardest thing for you to write?
3. Have you ever had a moment when everything you see reminds you of Harry Potter?
4. What's the longest straight period of time that you have written fanfiction?
I would never, ever give a Death Eater a pet name.
