Hiya, I'm summer_rain, both on the forums here and on HPFF. I've been in the HP fandom since around 2004, but love HPFF for the friendly people and the standards they set. Anyway, I've written a fair few stories on here (eleven at last count) and you can access any of these from my main author page here. They're all one-shots, but if anyone wants to discuss anything about any of them, I'm more than willing to do that! Promise I don't bite.

Wow! I can't believe no one's posted here at all. First off...I adore your work! Seriously, you are the best. Also...I don't know if you remember but I asked you ages ago if I could use the 5 part love thing and you said yes; I'm doing a similar formatting now but it's about surviving the war, not about love. I'm still going to credit you for the formatting idea though.
Now...to questions...
Who is the easiest character for you to write?
Where did you get the idea for splitting things into 5 parts?
Why do you prefer Marauders?
Which do you like better - Sirius/Lily or James/Lily?
Why do you think Lily would have went well with Sirius and James?
Do you listen to music when you write?
That's all for now but I'll be back!

Ooh yay questions!
Thanks for the compliments *blushes*. (And yes, I do indeed remember and I can't wait to see the results!)
Who is the easiest character for you to write?
Hmm, well that really depends on my mood at the time. But I tend to find Sirius and Lily easiest to write (though they can be very stubborn sometimes.) They are usually the ones who will jump into my mind and demand that something be written, and when that happens I usually just need to grab a keyboard and let them do the talking.
Where did you get the idea for splitting things into 5 parts?
That was something I thought about after reading several other fics around the Internet where the story would be split into several sections. Also, over on LiveJournal it was popular for a while to post stories about five events. So I kind of played around with that until I liked the result.
Why do you prefer Marauders?
Oh, the Marauders. Honestly, I've tried to write Trio fic. Or even fic based around the time period of Harry and the crew. I've done it, but I always keep coming back to the Marauders. I love them. I'm fascinated by their characters. Think about it: this group of friends, more like family than anything else. They fight in a war, have to deal with all of that, the prophecy, Sirius's messed up family, etc., and they still stick together. Then one of them turns and betrays it all. And that's not even getting into what happens from Book 3 on. I think what I'm incoherently trying to say is that JKR has only given us a little bit of truly specific detail about these guys (and girl!) and it's a lot of fun to play off of the little we do know.
Which do you like better - Sirius/Lily or James/Lily?
Hee, you knew this would be a tough question! I don't know if I can decide. James/Lily really is a genuinely awesome pairing, and I'd probably lean towards them, but Sirius/Lily is so much fun to write. There's the angst, the infidelity, so many different scenarios that almost always end in tragedy that I always go back to them. But to give you an answer I think I'm actually going to go for James/Lily because you know they were so cute they'd rot your teeth
Why do you think Lily would have went well with Sirius and James?
Hmm. Do you mean either of them? Well, we have only gotten so much about Lily from the books, but from my own personal canon and what we've been given, I see Lily as a very independent, passionate person. On the other hand, I think that once she found James and Sirius and all the others, she felt like she truly belonged, even if they did sometimes want to make her pull her hair out. She can mother James, give him the attention that he is used to getting, and the next second tell him off. But they're so in love I think they just balance each other out. Lily mellowed James, and he taught her about loosening up.
As for Sirius- Sirius and Lily are pure passion playing off each other. Sirius wouldn't take crap from Lily, and she wouldn't take anything from him. Many fics portray Sirius as a ladies' man- I doubt Lily would let him treat her like any other girl. She would demand respect, and it would be different for Sirius- he would be intrigued because she was different. They both have very different lives, but they both know pain and loss, and I think Lily would be able to talk to Sirius about things she couldn't talk to anyone else about.
Then again, that's all strictly my opinion, my own canon filling in where JKR left off.
Do you listen to music when you write?
Usually. It depends on what kind of mood I'm in, but I usually put on a song that I think best fits the mood of the scene or fic I'm writing. Usually it's something I know well enough not to get distracted by the lyrics, but something that has meaning to me personally, so I reflect my own emotions into the fic.
Hope that answered your questions well enough!

hi!
I have a few questions for you! They don't really relate to your written work, because I haven't read anything of you yet. But I will do certainly very soon ^_^
Which character would you say, is mostly like you?
Is there a character you hate to write? Why?
What do you think of Next-Gen fanfiction? Do you like it (to read/write) or would you once try to write/read it?
that's it for now.
X
Glad to meet you!
